ECO ADVENTURES
Nikena Eco Adventures is a Montenegro-based tour operator specialising in tailor-made soft adventure holidays — hiking, rafting, kayaking, and cultural experiences for individuals, families, and small groups. Their site was over ten years old and had accumulated enough issues that a full rebuild made more sense than patching. I proposed a custom WordPress theme and led the project from early wireframes through to launch.
The brief
The process started with low-fidelity layouts and moved gradually toward high-fidelity designs the client signed off on before development. Along the way we refreshed their logo — the old mark was difficult to work with across the new site — and went through several iteration rounds until they had something they were happy with.
I built a minimal, classic WordPress theme aligned with the Codex: class-based structure, responsive across screen sizes, and easy for the team to maintain. The site is multilingual, with adventure tours structured for both search crawlers and human visitors — clear itineraries, strong presentation, and flows ready for potential customers to enquire or make a reservation.
After launch I handled SEO setup — Google Search Console, Analytics, and related configuration — and cleaned up the hosting environment, which was in rough shape before we could publish with confidence. The site is live at nikena.me.
